Full day Alexandria from Cairo
Alexandria
is the Second largest city in Egypt, 230 km from Cairo. The tour will
start at 06.00 and finish at 21.00 with an English
Speaking
guide which will join our full day drive to visit the land of pharos,
which was founded by Alexander the Great in 332 B.C
Today we will explore
Alexandria’s Greco-Roman heritage at the tri-level catacombs in Kom
El-Shoukafa and Pompey’s Pillar, and we will tour the well preserved
ruins of the ancient Roman Theater.
Then,
we will drive by fort Quitbay where once stood the Pharos of
Alexandria, the light house that is ranked as one of the Seven Wonders
of the World.
Then we will have a sea food lunch in one of the famous local restaurants.
We
will complete after lunch to go to the Bibilothequa Alexandria, and by
the end of our tour, we will have to visit the Montaza Gardens with its
beautiful Palace where the members of the royal family of Mohamed Ali
used to spend the summer months.
Full day Dahshour & Lisht
In
the early morning, we will drive through the country side of Egypt; to
reach south to get to the ruins of El-Lisht , the Capital of Egypt at
the time of the Twelve dynasty , with the remains of the funerary
complexes of Amenemhat I , Sesostrist and the Mastabet Faraoun
constructed in the form of immense sarcophagus, which is a good example
of the architecture of old Egypt.
After
exploring light we will drive north to Dahshour to visit the two extra
ordinary pyramids of King Snefru, the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid,
which maybe considered the first true Pyramid, built in Egypt.
Full day Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Old Cairo & Bazaar
Our
full day tour begins at the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, which holds
more than 120,000 relics and antiquities that covers almost every
period in the Egyptian history, with a famous collection of the boy
King Tutankhamen and his beautiful mask, the Tanis collection with the
silver coffins of the kings of 21nd and 22nd dynasties,
and after touring the Museum with our expert professional guide you can
explore the Royal Mummies Room where the great Ramsis II is waiting for
his afterlife journey.
Then
we will continue to the Citadel which was built in the 12th century
overlooking the city of Cairo to visit the Alabaster Mosque which was
built by Mohamed Ali in the 19th century with all walls faced with
alabaster.
We will end our full day by having some free time
around the shops at El-Khalili Bazaar “SOUK”, where you can try out
your haggling skills dating back to the 14th Century with a magnificent
variety of gold & silver works in addition to many other attractive
handicrafts.
Finally, Lunch will be served in one of the local restaurants of the area.
Full day Egyptian Museum, Sultan Hassan Mosque, Citadel & Bazaar
This
morning we will tour one of the most prominent museums in the world,
the Egyptian Museum with its highlights, and its great collections, we
will have enough time to see the master pieces of the great museum.
After
the museum, we will drive through the heart of Cairo to get to the
Mosque & Madrasah of Sultan Hassan 1400 A.D, one of the best
examples of Muslim traditional architecture, then we will continue to
the Citadel of Saladin built in 1176 to guard against Crusaders, and it
was the home of rulers of Egypt for nearly 700 years, including the
famous Mohammed Ali, whose Alabaster Mosque is a miniature of the Blue
Mosque in Turkey. In the after noon, we will navigate Cairo’s most
popular exotic Khan El-Khalili Bazaar with a magnificent variety of
gold & silver works in addition to many other attractive
handicrafts.
Finally, Lunch will be served in one of the local restaurants.
Full day Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Pyramids & Sphinx
This morning we will explore the Giza Plateau, with its Great Pyramid of the 4th
Dynasty Kings 2600 B.C, we will walk around the great pyramid of
Cheops, the only surviving wonder of the ancient world, with its little
pyramids of his mother and wives.
We will stop by Sphinx and its temple, and learn about mummification in the mummification temple of King Chephren.
Next
we will see the citadel of Saladin that was built more than 800 years
ago, and we will stop by the beautiful mosque of Mohammed Ali.
Next
we will visit the great Egyptian museum that shelters more than 120,000
pieces of artifacts, walking around the collection of the boy King
Tutankhamen and other great collection, with free time to see the
mummies of the kings of ancient Egypt.
Finally, Lunch will be served in one of the local restaurants.
Full day Egyptian Museum, Pyramids & Sphinx
This
morning we will have a great adventure to make by exploring the great
Giza Pyramids the only remaining wonder of the Seven Wonders of the
World with the Sphinx acting as the guardian of the cemetery. If you
think that you have seen ancient history, we think that you are going
to change your mind after seeing the great structures of the 4th dynasty
kings more than 4600 years old, including the great Pyramid of
“Cheops”, the only standing wonder of the seven wonders of the Ancient
world.
In
front of the pyramids, stands the serene Sphinx, carved entirely of one
piece of limestone and was submerged by sand for thousands of years.
In
the after noon, our expert Egyptologists will take you in a tour around
the galleries of the most famous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities
inaugurated in 1901, centred in the heart of Cairo, storing artifacts
of about 500 years old including the very famous treasure of King
Tutankhamen
Finally, Lunch will be served in one of the local restaurants.
Full day Fayoum & Maidum
In
the early morning, we will start to see one of the most beautiful Oases
of Egypt, The Oasis of Fayoum, which is about one hour drive to south
of Cairo.
Although
it has many similarities with other Oasis, it is unlike a true Oasis in
that it is linked to the Nile valley & the Nile the vital artery of
Egypt by a natural stream called canal of Joseph. Water of this stream
divide into many branches and flow across the Fayoum basin and into
Lake Quarun the lake level is continually falling. It is calculated
that the lake was 22 m above sea-level, whereas today is 44 m below sea
–level.
Fayoum landscape is full of interest & very
attractive. Lake Qaroun is a lovely grey blue in colour and behind it
raises the golden sand dunes of the desert.
The most interesting
archaeological sites and monuments are the ruins of the old city &
the remains of the pyramids of Hawara/Ilahun, The famous Ptlomic
village of Karais 300 B.C that once sheltered more than 3000 people,
with the remains of houses and temples scattered all around the village.
Then
we will drive through the countryside of Fayoum and stop by Water
Wheels and drive out of Fayoum to see the famous Maidum Pyramid, most
probably was built by king Snefru of the 4th Dynasty in his search for the true shape pyramid.
Finally, Lunch will be served by the lake Quaroun in Fayoum
Full day Memphis, Sakkara, Pyramids, Sphinx, Solar boat & Dahshour
This
tour provides you with an idea about the development of pyramid
building in Egypt, starting with the Step Pyramid at Sakkara and its
architect the great Imhoteb, then driving to Dahshour to see the Bent
Pyramid and Red Pyramid of King Snefru, and finally driving to Giza to
see the Pyramids.
We
will stop at Memphis where the kings of Old Kingdom lived and watched
their Pyramids being built reaching the skies. We will end our tour by
seeing the best example of the Pyramids in Egypt at Giza, where we can
see the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mecernuis being guarded by the
mighty Sphinx.
Then
we will walk towards the Solar boat Museum which houses a large wooden
boat that was found in May 1945 during the cleaning work By young
Egyptian architect and archeologist Kamal El Malakh and inspector Zaki
Nur. They found two sealed ditches closed off by 40 gigantic blocks of
limestone weighting from 17 to 20 tons each, the northern one was
opened inside was a large wooden boat disassembled into 12240 pieces.
It
took more than 10 years to put the boat together, the royal boat which
was built out of Lebanese cedar is fully 43.3 m long , 5.6 m wide and a
draft of only 1-5 m which made it suitable only for river navigation.
The
second pit was photographed in 1987 by a special probe designed with
the collaboration of National Geographic Society; the probe showed that
the pit contains a boat similar to the first one.
The
significance of the boat of Khufu has been debated at great length, it
might be the boat that transported the body of the King to its final
resting place or it had a religious or ritual meaning like helping the
soul of the King in its journey to the after life.

Full day Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis & Sakkara
In the morning, we will explore the Giza Plateau with its great Pyramids and Sphinx.
The
great pyramid which is 137.8 m high and more than 2.3 million blocks of
lime stone and granite is one of the seven wonders of the Ancient
world. You can enjoy walking around the Mastabas and pyramids of royal
member of the 4th Dynasty, and we will end our tour by seeing the mighty Sphinx guarding the pyramids.
In
the afternoon, we will drive south to see the remains of Memphis, the
first and most ancient capital of Egypt 3100 B.C, with the great
statues of Ramses II, and then we will explore the cemetery of Memphis
at Sakkara.

Full day Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Sakkara & Solar Boat
The
tour will start at Giza Plateau, the only remaining wonder of the seven
wonders of the world with the Sphinx acting as the guardian of the
cemetery then we will see the huge wooden boat 43.5 m long used by the
king Cheops on his journey with the sun god Ra in the afterworld,
housed in a special museum.
We will take Lunch in one of the local
restaurants then we will go to Memphis the oldest capital of Egypt to
see the colossal statue of Ramses II, exhibited in a museum made of
fine grained limestone – 13 m long & weighs 120 tons.
After
that , we will continue to the oldest Egyptian cemetery Sakkara to see
the step pyramid built by the engineer Imhotep for King Zoser – it is
of a Mastaba type composed of six receding Masatabas (steps) on top of
each other 59ms in height. Sakkara is noted for the tombs of nobles
that bear inscriptions showing daily life of Ancient Egyptians such as
farming, animal breeding, hunting as well as religious rites and
offering of sacrifice to the dead.

Full day Tannis San El Hagar
In
the morning, we will drive “2.30 hours” 173 km from Cairo crossing the
fertile countryside of the Delta, a flat table land extends to the
south of Lake Manzala above this in the centre of the plateau rose the
mound of 'San el Hagar'”, the location of the ancient city of Djan “The
biblical zoan” called by the Greeks Tanis
For
a long time it has been maintained although without any real proof that
this was the site of the Hyksos fortress Avaris and also the site of
Residence f Ramsis II. Today it is the most impressive area of ruins in
the Delta and extremely interesting site.
Like
the temple of Amon and tens of obelisks lying on the ground and you
will see the tombs of the kings of the 21th and 22nddyn, this is where
the great treasures of the Tanis room in the Egyptian Museum came from.
Half day Citadel & Bazaar
The
Citadel was built in the 12th century overlooking the city of Cairo to
visit the Alabaster Mosque which was built by Mohamed Ali in the 19th
century with all walls faced with alabaster.
In the end of the

Half day Islamic Cairo
A
tour, to the old mosques of Cairo, the most famous one is Al Azhar
mosque which was built 971 AD as a Mosque & Madrasah (school).It is
the oldest Islamic university, first lecture was 975 AD.
Then we
will go to the Mosque & Madrasah of Sultan Hassan, which was
founded between 1356 & 1363 to be a Madrasah for the four orthodox
rites of Islam. Opposite to it is El Rifai, which was completed in
1912, in the Mamluke style.
Then we will end by Ibn- Tuloun which
was built between 876 – 879 and it is characterized by its spacious
grounds & unique minaret, spiral and large collection of gypsum
decoration. We will have a Chance to see the Gayer Andreson Museum; The
Englishman Gayer Anderson purchased 2 adjoining.
Mamluke houses dating 1630, he renovated them and furnished them with beautiful and precious things in rich Arab style.

Half day Old Cairo (Coptic museum/Gayer Anderson)
Today’s
tour is different we’ll explore the galleries and rooms of the Coptic
Museum that would help you to understand the history of the Egyptian
Christians ‘’ The Copts’’ the museum was founded in 1908 – 1910.
Among
the masterpieces of the museum Marble columns, Fountains, Mashrabiahs,
Icons , Textiles and mosaics brought from the ruins of ancient mansions
belonging to the Coptic community.
The
most interesting thing among the wooden work in the museum is the
Mashrabiahs which were used as windows by both the Copts and Muslims.
Then
on to Islamic Cairo Ibn-Touloun mosque, we will visit the Gayer
Anderson Museum, The Englishman Gayer Anderson purchased 2 adjoining
Mameluke houses dating 1630, he renovated them and furnished them with
beautiful and precious things in rich Arab style.
Half day Pharaonic Village
We
will visit the modern village which reflects the style of life of
ancient Egyptians; visitors witness the daily activities of the ancient
Egypt with its oldest civilization.
Half day Pyramids & Sphinx
We
will start our tour by visiting the Pyramids of Giza, highest
achievement in pyramids construction, significance and meaning of
construction is uniquely sacred and religious. Almost 100,000 men
worked for twenty years on constructing the first great pyramid of
Cheops
2690 BC. Pyramids of Chephren & Mycerinus not to be missed.
We
will also see the Sphinx, a couchant lion with human royal head
considered as an effigy of King Chepheren in monumental form and also
as an image of the Sun god.
Sound & Light Pyramids
At
the evening, we will have a transfer to Giza area to attend the Sound
& Light Show, It’s a great relaxing way of seeing the great
pyramids of Egypt and the Sphinx being lit and voices of famous actors
and actresses tells you the story of Egypt, with hieroglyphs and plans
of the pyramids being drawn on the movement by lazer.
